I was born on Sakhalin Island, Russia, graduated from school in Moscow,
received a higher maritime education in Odessa, Ukraine, and have been living in London
since 1991.

I never called myself a photographer, nor did I possess technical prowess.
Photography found me in the second act of my life, a new meaning born from the close of the first. I began to see a world through a lens, initially drawn to the pulse of street life. I travelled a lot, photographing daily. My gaze score narrowed, captivated by the strokes, colour spots and the feeling details. It was then I realised life whispered its own language in every corner. I'd once overlooked. Then, I freed the camera from the tether, letting it find its own way. And in that freedom, new and unfamiliar images emerged, each possessing its own voice. I began to hear them, striving to visualise their essence, my lens became the instrument to give them form.
